MEMORIAL DAY 2020

All Town Offices will be closed on Monday, May 25th, 2020, in observance of Memorial Day.

CLERKS OFFICE OPEN JANUARY 31ST

Clerk's Office will be CLOSED on Thursday, May 22nd and Monday, May 25th.

NEW ELECTION LAWS - EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

POLL SITE: This year's elections will be held at the Caton Fire Hall, located at 1118 Caton Road, per Steuben County Board of Elections.

2020 Presidential Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, June 23rd, 2020, at the Caton Fire Hall, 1118 Caton Road. Voting hours are from 6:00 am to 9:00 pm. For more information go the the Steuben County website at: steubencounty.org.

Bar Assessement Information-2020

Notice is hereby given that the Assessor of the Town of Caton, County of Steuben, has completed the Tentative Assessment Roll for the current year; that a copy thereof has been left with the Assessor and the Town Clerk at Caton Town Hall, 11161 Hendy Hollow Rd, Corning, NY.  Due to COVID-19 the town office is closed to the public.  The Tentative Roll can be viewed online at the Town of Caton website by cliking on the Link Tab.  If you have questions, email the assessor at: erinmosher1@gmail.com or call and leave a message at (607)346-6002.  Complaint form RP524 and publication containing procedures for contesting an assessment are available at www.tax.ny.gov

 

APPOINTMENTS ARE REQUESTED FOR GRIEVANCE DAY-June 2 and SHOULD BE MADE PRIOR to MAY 28th.  Email(Erinmosher1@gmail.com) or call(607-346-6002) the Assessor's office to schedule.    PLEASE MAIL COMPLETED APPLICATIONS(RP-524) TO: Caton Town Hall, Assessor, 11161 Hendy Hollow Rd., Corning, NY 14830.  Applications received after the deadline shall be heard at an alternate date to be determined.  The Board of Assessment Review will meet on June 2, 2020 between the hours of 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the Caton Town Hall 11161 Hendy Hollow Rd, Caton, NY to hear and examine all scheduled/filed written complaints in relation to such assessments, on the written application of any person believing himself to be aggrieved.  The procedure for scheduled hearings is subject to change due to COVID-19.

PANTRY OF ANGELS-NEW LOCATION

(new location at the old Brownies Store) Pantry of Angels 682 County Road 115, P O Box 60, Lindley NY 607-523-7250 A variety of free food is distributed every Thursday from 4:30 to 5:30 pm to Lindley and Caton residents who are in need. Proof of residency is required at sign-up.

 Due to ongoing Coronavirus it has been necessary to cancel the following meetings:
 
June 9th 2020 - Meeting at the Caton Park
As normal there are no meetings in July or August.
 
We hope that things will be back to near normal by September and we can have our
September 8th meeting.
Keep posted to the excellent Town of Caton web site for more data on the meeting dates for the Caton
Seniors.

Credit/Debit card and E-check now accepted to pay for dog licenses, hunting licenses, marriage licenses, building permits & for any purchase made in the Town Clerk's Office. 

E-check surcharge is $2.50. Credit card surcharge for any item purchased up to $64 is $1.75 added to the card. Credit card surcharge for any item purchased over $64 is 2.75% added to the card. As always, you can still pay in person by check or in cash with no service fee.
