ANNOUNCEMENTS
CATON FIRE DISTRICT NO. 1

NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING: The Caton Fire District # 1 Board of Fire Commissioner's will hold a special meeting pertaining to a NEW BUILDING on Friday, February 26, 2021, 6 pm at the Caton Fire Hall.

TOWN COUNCIL POSITIONS

There are two (2) Town Council (Board member) positions open for election on November 2, 2021. Town Board position is a 4-year term and will begin on January 1, 2022 and end December 31, 2025. Anyone running on a designating petition for an office that is up this year can begin getting signatures on March 2, 2021. Petitions must be filed at the Bath Board of Elections office by March 22 thru March 25, 2021. The number of signatures required for the designating petitions was reduced from 5% to 1.5 %-which for Town of Caton residents the amount of signatures required is 13. Candidates can pick up petition packets at Steuben County Board of Elections in Bath, or print out from the Steuben County website at: www.steubencony.org/boeCaucuses-the first day to hold a town caucus is March 2, 2021. Last day to file a certificate of nomination from a party is July 22, 2021. For more informaton visit the above website or call: 664-2261 or 664-2262.

PANTRY OF ANGELS-NEW LOCATION

(new location at the old Brownies Store) Pantry of Angels 682 County Road 115, P O Box 60, Lindley NY 607-523-7250 A variety of free food is distributed every Thursday from 4:30 to 5:30 pm to Lindley and Caton residents who are in need. Proof of residency is required at sign-up.

CATON SENIOR CITIZENS

Caton Senior Citizens Group meet on the second Tuesday of each month at the Caton United Methodist Church. Due to the covid virus, meetings will not be held until otherwise stated. For more information contact Bob Lord @ 962-5539.

CATON TAXPAYERS:                                             2021 Town & County Tax Bills may be paid online by clicking on the above "PAY TAXES" link (fees apply). 

E-check surcharge fee for a tax bill payment: (up to $2,000) is $2.50.  E-check surcharge fee for a tax bill payment: ($2,001 up to $4,000) is $5.00. E-check surcharge fee increases by $2.50 for every $2,000 of tax bill amount due.               -------------------------

Credit card surcharge for a tax bill of up to and including $64 is $1.75. Credit card surchage for a tax bill of up to $65 and over is 2.75%.

Caton Town Clerks Office:

Credit/Debit card and E-check now accepted to pay for dog licenses, hunting licenses, marriage licenses, building permits & for any purchase made in the Town Clerk's Office. 

E-check surcharge is $2.50. Credit card surcharge for any item purchased up to $64 is $1.75 added to the card. Credit card surcharge for any item purchased over $64 is 2.75% added to the card. As always, you can still pay in person by check or in cash with no service fee.
