Regular Monthly Caton Town Board Meeting for the month of May has been rescheduled for May 19th.


The annual meeting of the Elmwood Cemetery Association, located in the Town of Caton, has been rescheduled for Thursday, June 10th, 6 pm, at the Caton Town Hall located at 11161 Hendy Hollow Road. Meeting is open to association members.


Caton Park will open on Saturday, May 1st. For a pavilion reservation please contact Town Clerk. Cost of reservation is $35 payable prior to day of reservation.


There are two (2) Town Council (Board member) positions and (1) Supervisor position open for election on November 2, 2021. Each Town Board positions is a 4-year term and will begin on January 1, 2022 and end December 31, 2025. Supervisor position will begin November 3, 2021, and end on December 31, 2023Caucuses-the first day to hold a town caucus is March 2, 2021 and the last day to file a certificate of nomination from a town caucus or party is July 22, 2021. Bar Assessement Information-2021

Notice is hereby given that the Assessor of the Town of Caton, County of Steuben, has completed the Tentative Assessment Roll for the current year; that a copy thereof has been left with the Assessor and the Town Clerk at Caton Town Hall, 11161 Hendy Hollow Rd, Corning, NY.   The Tentative Roll can be viewed online at the Town of Caton website by cliking on the Link Tab.  If you have questions, email the assessor at: or call and leave a message at (607)524-6303-Ext 2.  Complaint form RP524 and publication containing procedures for contesting an assessment are available at


APPOINTMENTS ARE REQUESTED FOR GRIEVANCE DAY-June 1 and SHOULD BE MADE PRIOR to MAY 28th.  Email( or call(607-524-6303-Ext 2) the Assessor's office to schedule.    PLEASE MAIL COMPLETED APPLICATIONS(RP-524) TO: Caton Town Hall, Assessor, 11161 Hendy Hollow Rd., Corning, NY 14830.  Applications received after the deadline shall be heard at an alternate date to be determined.  The Board of Assessment Review will meet on June 1, 2021 between the hours of 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the Caton Town Hall 11161 Hendy Hollow Rd, Caton, NY to hear and examine all scheduled/filed written complaints in relation to such assessments, on the written application of any person believing himself to be aggrieved.

Weekday COVID Vaccine Clinic in Bath

Steuben County Public Health has opened a standing COVID-19 vaccine clinic at the Civil Defense Training Center located at 7220 State Route 54 in Bath. The clinic is open Monday - Friday, 10 am - 2 pm. Currently, we are utilizing Moderna, so anyone 18 years of age or older is able to attend this clinic. Individuals can pre-register for their appointment time at: or walk ins are welcome. 2021 Town & County Tax Bills may be paid online (through March 31st) by clicking on the above "PAY TAXES" link (fees apply, see below)For payment after March 31, 2021, please contact the Steuben County Finance Department at: 607-664-2488. 

E-check surcharge fee for a tax bill payment: (up to $2,000) is $2.50. E-check surcharge fee for a tax bill payment: ($2,001 up to $4,000) is $5.00. E-check surcharge fee increases by $2.50 for every $2,000 of tax bill amount due.               

Credit card surcharge for a tax bill of up to and including $64 is $1.75. Credit card surchage for a tax bill of up to $65 and over is 2.75%.

The Elmwood Cemetery-located next to the Methodist Church on Hendy Hollow Road. Cost of lots are now $600. Full burial is $600 and Cremation burial is $400. For more information please contact Connie Powell from the Elmwood Cemetery Association at 524-6676.

Credit/Debit card and E-check now accepted to pay for dog licenses, hunting licenses, marriage licenses, building permits & for any purchase made in the Town Clerk's Office. 

E-check surcharge is $2.50. Credit card surcharge for any item purchased up to $64 is $1.75 added to the card. Credit card surcharge for any item purchased over $64 is 2.75% added to the card. As always, you can still pay in person by check or in cash with no service fee.
